Since its the ending to the series and not the first book it has many references that one might not know about. It starts out with Voldemort ,the antagonist, with his elite troops and the Malfoys house. Here they are discussing the plans of world domination. Next the book introduces the three main characters Harry, Ron, and Hermione. How the Book relates to Mause
This book is very to many book we have read in class. 1 Book it is closely related to is Mause. It is related to Mause in many ways. one way they are similar is in the theme of both books. In Harry Potter the theme of the book is Dark and sad. These are some of the same themes of Mause . It is sad in Harry Potter because many of the wizards that are half bloods are getting caught and killed for not being pure blooded wizards. In Mause The Jews are getting picked off because they believe in different things then the Nazi's. The theme of both books bring similar discrimination of a group of people. The moods of the two books are also similar in many ways as well. In both books the moods of the books are depressing making everything seem dark in the book, yet in both books there are shimmers of light that pop out of the darkness. For instance In Mouse Vladek and Anja have a son that they love with all there heart. Another shimmer of light that is popped out of this book is the friends he makes along the ways of his journey as well as the knowledge he got out of the experience. How Harry Potter relates to Lord of the Flies
Harry Potter and the deathly Hallows relates a lot to Lord of the Flies in many ways. One way they are both related is in life styles. In both books the kids ,in lord of the flies, and wizards, in harry potter, have to survive by themselves. They both don't get help from outsiders. Both books are similar in partaking in sides. In harry Potter wizards had the choice to either go to the dark side with Voldemort or go with the Order of the Phoenix the good side and fight for their freedom. In Lord of the flies the kids had to pick either to go with Jack or to go with Piggy and Ralph. the antagonist of the books are very similar in character as well. Jack want to become the ruler over all the land just like Voldemort. jack is also related to Voldemort in the way he had partaken in the killing of piggy and Simon.
How the Book relates to Catcher and the Rye
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows relates a lot to Catcher and the Rye. Harry Potter and catcher and the Rye have very similar themes and moods. Both are very depressing and lost. In Harry Potter Ron, Harry, and Hermione are all lost in what to do with the horcruxes and they are lost in where to find the horcruxes. In Catcher and the rye Holden is confused where to go when he leaves school. He also loses himself mentally. Holden and Harry also have similar traits as main characters . Both Harry and Holden have a rough childhood. In Harry's life he gets stuck with his awful aunt and uncle with the death of his parents. Holden was always moving from school to school because of his failing grades. Also Holden's experience with his brother's death harshly effects what he does in school and how he acts towards adults. As a result of his brother's death Holden stopped trusting parents as well as bothering to do well in school.
How the Book relates to the Kite Runner
One book that a view selected people read in the class was the book the Kite Runner. I already did a blog presentation about the book but i think it relates to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows a lot. This book is also written by the author of the book "a Thousand Splendid Suns." Both the Kite Runner and Harry Potter include the death of very important people in the main characters life. In the Kite Runner Amir the main character loses his best friends Hussam when he tries to protect Amir's old house. Amir then goes on a conquest to find Hussam only child who is captured by the Taliban. In Harry Potter Harry loses his parents as well as his good friend Dobby who he met in Book 2 of Harry Potter. Dobby died by saving the life of Harry Hermione, Luna , and a goblin. Another similarity between both books is the bonds the main characters share with their friends. Amir shared a healthy respected friendship with Hussam until Amir saw Hussam get raped by a bully name Aseef. Harry had a strong friendship with his friends Ron and Hermione throughout the book ,but In the middle Ron and harry get into a fight and dont see each other for some time.
How the Book relates to A thousand Splendid Suns
A thousand Splendid Suns and Harry Potter are very similar even though they have completely different stories. harry Potter and a Thousand Splendid Suns have times where a person they meet is really who they say they are. In Harry Potter they meet a person named Bathilda Bagshot who is really Voldemorts sidekick Nagini a snake. This Snake tries to kill them in the end but fails. In A thousand Splendid Suns Mariam and Laila both try and escape Afghanistan ,but when they try and ask a nice fellow for help buying a ticket he decides to tell the Taliban on them and right before they are about to get on the bus they are arrested. The consequences of them trying to escape almost end up with Rasheed killing them but he decides not to kill them instead he makes them scared to ever run again. Another example of a similarity would be the good endings. In Harry Potter it ends with Harry killing Voldemort and his evil elite disciples. In A Thousand Splendid Suns it ends with Laila helping the country of Afghanistan by becoming a teacher at the orphanage they sent aziza to.
